PAINT
I wanted an earthy green tone to bring a comforting and homey feel to my studio, and opted for a shade from Benjamin Moore’s Heritage Collection called “Wethersfield Moss” (HC-110).
I purchased a can of Sherwin Williams Captivate paint in a satin finish. If you’re lucky to catch one of Sherwin William’s occasional sales like I did, you can get up to 40% off!
I also love Behr Marquee paint in an eggshell finish; I used this brand for the other rooms in my home.
ACOUSTIC Wood WALL PANELS
My favorite feature of the studio is the wood acoustic wall panels! They bring in such a cozy vibe and they help with sound dampening. Because I live in a condo, keeping sound from escaping the room is important so I can work late without disturbing my neighbors.
The panels I used are from The Wood Veneer Hub, and I was BEYOND impressed with the quality of these. I ordered the walnut panels, but they also come in other woods such as oak and smoked oak.
Instrument Hangers
I don’t think I’ll ever buy a guitar hanger that isn’t a Hercules. They’re great quality, have a weight-activated latching mechanism, and are super easy to install.
Also, if you have a cat, I’d absolutely recommend investing in one of these latching hooks to protect your instruments from mischievous paws!
Picture Frame Shelves
If you’re an indecisive decorator like me, picture frame shelves are a great option for filling out your wall space. These shelves are easy to install, come in different finishes, and allow you to switch up your decor whenever you want.
I use mine to display vinyls, awards, framed art, plants, candles, and even small instruments!
Custom Neon Sign
NeonGrand makes custom signs so easy — they have an intuitive online tool that allows you to design and order a custom sign right on their website. Alternatively, you can send them your own logo / design to get a quote for a custom piece! I absolutely love my neon sign and it’s the perfect statement piece for my studio’s main wall.
CABLE HOOKS
Why not store your cables out in the open? This is a music studio, after all! Hanging your microphone and instrument cables up on the wall is both functional and accessible as a storage solution. I also use mine to store headphones!
Unfortunately, the hooks I used in my studio have been discontinued from IKEA. However, these hangers look to be a good alternative with enough depth for spools of cables and headphones. I also love the aesthetic of these.
