Flameless Candles

These flamless candles bring so much warmth to my studio space and I can’t wait to get more of them. They give off a gentle flicker, giving them a really realistic look, especially in the evening. They also come in different styles to suit any space.

They are powered by AA batteries (2 each) and are remote controlled for easy activation. While these definitely don’t drain batteries, you can also use Duracell rechargeable batteries with them like I do if you’re feeling fancy.

Vinyl Frames

I love displaying vinyls that are special to me. When I was first looking for vinyl frames, I found a lot online that were cheap / made with plastic, but it was more difficult to find some nice quality glass frames. Eventually I found these ones and picked up 4 of them. I’m sure I’ll be buying more of these as my collection grows!

Moon Lamp

This little 3D-printed moon lamp was gifted to me many years ago, and I just love having it in my creative space! I love the basic white settings best, but it also has RGB capabilities and brightness control. The lamp comes with a handy little remote control and a wood display stand.

I find the moon lamp looks especially great as a background detail for streaming!

LED Strips

I installed some LED strips on the back-side and under-side of my desk to accomplish a really neat ‘glowing’ effect. I’ve always loved the way this looks and I think it makes the studio look super polished and professional.

LED strips are super affordable and easy to install, and yet they add so much atmosphere to a space.

If you want to take your light game even farther, you could opt for the much fancier Philips Hue LED Lightstrips to unlock even more possibilities such as automations, scenes, music-sync, smart switches, and more. I am slowly moving all the lighting in my studio over to Philips Hue.

Track Lighting

The pot lights that came with my condo HAD to go. I decided to go for track lighting so that I could highlight my two statement walls, with the flexibility of re-positioning the lights in the future according to my needs.

Brushed brass finish is hit or miss and can end up looking cheap, but the finish on this unit looks fantastic.

I used dimmable GU10 bulbs with a dimmer switch so that I could adjust the brightness of the lights.

Curtains, Curtain Rod, and Holdbacks

Curtains can provide a dramatic flare while also offering functional benefits such as sound dampening and light obstruction. I chose a pair of IKEA ROSENMANDEL curtains due to their thickness (for sound dampening) and blackout grading (for filming).

For the curtain rod, I chose one that wraps around on the sides so that I could get good sound and light-blocking. Here’s the curtain rod I chose, which comes in many different finishes and was incredibly easy to install.

I also installed a couple of holdbacks to match the curtain rod.

Brick Headz

Alright, here’s just a fun little extra, because I already KNOW people will be asking me about this. My Lord of the Rings Brick Headz!

The Frodo / Gollum set is my favorite, but there are other sets as well such as the Gandalf & Balrog set, the Aragorn & Arwen set, and the Gimli & Legolas set.
